New Dates for 2011/2012!
17th December 2011 | Stan
Cheers to everyone who came down to support MONKEY MAKE NOISE last night at Star of Kings, Kings Cross. There was a fantastic positive energy in the room! Thanks for singing with us, thanks for the dancing, thanks for sitting down (and standing back up again!) in Northern Soul and thank you all very much for the very warm reception! A special mention also goes to Kempo and to Howard & The Leaves for making the night a memorable one.
Our gig diary is looking quite healthy over the next few months - if you’re free on Friday 30th December it would be great to see a few familiar faces down at The Barfly, Camden. Here are the complete listings as of today:

Welcome! Velkommen! Bienvenue! Bienvenidos! Bananas!
14th December 2011 | Stan
Hello and welcome to our new website! We really hope you like it! Please take the time to have a look around the site and let us know what you think by posting a comment on the wall – it’s just like Facebook, but with more bananas… Also, if you’ve not yet joined our Facebook page then follow the link at the top of the homepage and like our page. This will keep you up to date with everything that we’re doing from here onwards!
News this week… We’ve been rehearsing our set for this Friday’s Christmas Extravaganza at Star of Kings and we’re really excited about it. We’ve also got a cheeky little festive number up our sleeves in addition to an extended set of Branco standards and newer material, including Good As Gold and the groove monster that is Brothers.
We’ve also been hard at work on our plans for 2012, which is only just around the corner. I really can’t believe how quickly this year has gone but then, don’t we say that every year? We’ve had some top laughs including numerous trips to Norway and our very recent mission to Belgium, a fantastic slot at Wilkestock (check out the video in the media section), a residency at the now deceased Carnivale in Aldgate (hopefully we didn’t run them into the ground – I bet they’ve still got the banana beer – chaps, a potential heist here?), a brilliant trip to Dublin where we poured our own Guinness, and a surreal experience with the ghost of Marvin Gaye to name but a few. More importantly, we’ve learnt a lot about ourselves as a band, as musicians and as writers and hopefully (in your eyes) we have continued to develop our live show in to one of the most fearsome attacks around on the circuit, a bit like Luis Suarez and Andy Carroll…
Beyond this Friday I’m personally looking forward to seeing the year out with a show at Camden Barfly on Friday 30th December. It’s a venue we’ve never played at and so once MONKEY MAKE NOISE is done we’ll be turning our attention to ensuring that we absolutely smash it in style.
So, I look forward to seeing you all at MONKEY MAKE NOISE this Friday 16th December. The band will be at the venue from around 4pm to sound check and then milling about thereafter, trying not to get too drunk to play, which is always a challenge when you’re stuck in a pub for 6 hours! Come down whenever you fancy, have a drink with us – looking forward to hearing about how everyone will be spending the festive period.
And, my challenge to you all is to wear the most hideous Christmas jumper that you can possibly find!
