New Branco material

28th September 2015 | Al

It’s been a creative year so far for us, mainly focused on writing new tunes!

We played our first gig of the year as an in-store at Dr Martens in Spitalfields – it was a great chance to test out some new material in a unique setting, cheers to everyone that came down!

Norway mini tour, 3-6 October

7th October 2014 | Stan

With Monkey Make Noise released early in 2014, and an intense period of touring and promotion that surrounded it, our summer has been eventful in other ways, particularly for Al who has been enjoying fatherhood.
We’ve been enjoying the freedom of writing new material, with the blank canvas that can only present itself following the release of a long player. More on that soon!
In the meantime, last weekend we had the opportunity to travel out to Norway for three dates. As soon as we stepped off the plane we were whisked to the Radio Prime studio for an acoustic session which aired later that Friday ahead of our  evening gig – an extended set at Magenta in the old fort of Fredrikstad, home to the awesome Moon Festival. Old friends were popping up at every turn and it was certainly a messy one. On Saturday there a few sore heads, eased in the clean air of the fjords at Halden harbour near the Swedish border – the location for a set which we started acoustically before stepping up the gears to a rousing conclusion.
Finally on the Sunday we performed in our spiritual home of Sarpsborg, sustained by kebabs and campo viejo before stumbling to our beds, exhausted but happy.
All in all an action-packed weekend, hosted by some wonderful people, and a great opportunity for us to hit the road for a few days against an epic landscape – Skal Norge! X

Stan’s Hillsborough single ’96 Lives’ out today

17th April 2014 | Al

We’re immensely proud to announce that Stan is releasing a single called ‘96 Lives‘ today, to coincide with the 25th anniversary of the Hillsborough disaster, when 96 people went to a football match and never came home.

Before Christmas the track featured on a compilation called ‘Justice for Hillsborough’ which went to number 1 in the Scandinavian charts, and now together with Ora Studio and Jamie Carragher’s 23 Foundation, the song is being officially released. For every download a contribution will be made to the foundation, which supports community projects in Liverpool, a wonderful city that we as a band owe much to. With the song being dedicated to the victims and families of the tragedy, we hope the release can in its own way highlight the fight for Justice for the 96.
